Office Endoscopy Procedures

Endoscopy procedures Evergreen sinus Center Kirkland Washington

During your visit we may recommend a nasal endoscopy. An endoscope is a special fiber optic instrument used to examine the interior of your nose. We have the latest in endoscopic and video technology in our office to comfortably permit accurate diagnosis and evaluation of your situation.

Nasal endoscopy permits a reliable, visual view of all the accessible areas of the sinus drainage pathways. First, your nasal cavity is anesthetized; an endoscope is then placed in a position to view the nasal cavity. The procedure is utilized to observe signs of obstruction as well as detect nasal polyps hidden from routine nasal examination. During the endoscopic examination we also look for pus as well as polyp formation and structural abnormalities that may cause recurrent sinusitis. Carefully obtained sinus cultures, done easily in the office, help accurately diagnose infections and direct specific therapy, helping to prevent antibiotic resistant infections.
